Pool side

So, this is my new exercise for the week! Ok, actually not really but kind of. I have started attending classes at the aqautic center Mon-thurs. I go to aqua box (which is kickboxing in the water) on Mon and Wed and water pilates on Tues and Thurs. I even recruited some girls from work to attend with me. It's really a great workout and works a bunch of different mucsles than I have been working. My friend's husband teases her and asks if she's working out with the grandma's (see pic). However, most people in my classes are more middle aged or closer to my age. We even use water weights, which just about killed my arms last night.
I love it because it's a new, refreshing workout. I'm not gettin as much cardio yet so i may have to supplement some runs/walks when the weather gets a little warmer. I was feeling down and burned out (I know, it's only been two months) but this week has really been rejuvenating for me and I really feel I can see more changes in my body. I am not dreading going to my workouts and actually look forward to going. The biggest challenge is going to be trying to convince Dan to come with me one time! He should be supportive right? ;)
I am now armed with my towel, swimsuit, and SELF magazine (thanks Elisa!) and ready for another 2 months of beating my body into submission!

yay, good job! Sounds like a tough but rewarding class. I don't know of any boyfriends on the planet that would go to that class, but if you can get him to do it, my hat goes off to you...
Yeah I know, but it will be a fun challenge, especially being as stubborn as he can be sometimes.
There is actually one other guy in the class but he is like 65 or something.
anyways, it's a fun class and if anyone is ever in kville, they should go! (they really should use me for advertising)
Sam - Thank you so much for emailing me! I haven't meant to put you on the backburner... I just didn't want to speak my words, but rather words of encouragment the Lord has provided me with through the bible and friends / family. And life has been a lot busier these last few weeks than normal, which I'm sure you understand! :) Anyway, an email is coming soon. In the mean time, keep up the good work! I'm proud of you for pressing on when it is discouraging and for doing it even when you're tired and frustrated. The Lord WILL reward your faithfulness.
Thanks soo much! I completely understand waiting for the right words especially as this is not a light subject (no pun intended). Thanks for the post. It's good to know others who have gone through the same struggle and succeeded.
Sam....
It is definitely at the point that you see yourself looking forward to (rather than dreading) the workout that you know: you have arrived. There's something really cleansing about that moment, when you are aware that you are doing something that is good for you, which you also (thank heavens) enjoy.
Re. your comment: How far am I from Wisconsin? Hmm... not far enough? (HAHA)- no really. You'd have to jog westward around the southern part of Lake Michigan and go north through Chicago. Kalamazoo is about 2.5 hours from Chi-Town, so however far it is from there to WI is your answer.
Sorry I've been such a loser at posting on your blog... things have been downright nasty around here with school (as you've read) and this weekend is devoted entirely to a paper on Eric Bloodaxe for my Norse class. For now, though, I think I'm going to relax (!!) and flush out all the things I learned in this afternoon's guest lecture on Anglo-Saxon Hermit-Saints and the Date of Easter (by Benedicta Ward, a little old woman who teaches at Oxford). SIGH.
I LOVE YOU. Hug Haffey for me, okay?
So thanks to water aerobics classes i had to make my first save ever. little old lady fell off her noodle. be careful sam i would hate for you to drown!
sams, so glad that you are hitting a milestone of this pursuit! it is a good thing when you start looking forward to kicking in the water. this means that you are not just exercising because of a plan but you are making it your lifestyle. so many people stop before making it to that point. i.e. me. but you would be proud..i walk/ran both saturday and sunday.
also. are you coming to kc this weekend? you should come down for the day on sat. or sunday.
